This raw limestone chuna pathor comes as a natural calcium carbonate stone in solid white lumps. It lasts long in storage. People soak these stones in plain water to make traditional whitewashed lime paint for house walls. The soaking process breaks the hard lumps into a soft lime paste. Farmers crush the stone and spread it across acidic agricultural fields so crops grow better. Fish farm owners toss it directly into pond water to adjust pH levels and keep fish healthy, and also people mix crushed limestone with cement and sand to improve mortar bonding strength during brick construction
