It is an ATC refractometer used to measure the water content of liquids. It, therefore, measures the refractive index of the liquid, which varies with moisture content. It provides a high-resolution Brix scale for the most common tasks and provides highly accurate readings with 0.10 Brix divisions. It is an optical instrument made of high-quality aluminum that can be used to measure the density or refractive index of liquids. It uses only ambient light so no batteries are required
