The ocean pauses. It slowly looks back. The river is standing right in the same place. The dim afternoon light falling on her face creates a kind of melancholic glow. Seeing her, the ocean's heart suddenly softens. A strange charm surrounds him. He begins to think, why has he been avoiding the river for so long? Why didn't he check on her? Why did he cause her pain? These questions come all at once and strike him from within. The river remains silent for a moment. Then, speaking like a poem, she says–
'Who am I, ocean?' 'You are a flower. A Shiuli flower.'
'Why Shiuli?' 'Shiuli blooms at night, and falls by morning!'
'Who am I, ocean?' 'I am a tree. A Shiuli tree.'
'Why a tree?' 'A tree never truly gets the flower.'
'It holds it, keeps it safe, and when the flower falls, it belongs to someone else.'
'Who are we, ocean?' 'A family!'
'A family?'
'Hmm. An unfulfilled family. Even though we are two of us, neither of us belongs to the other!'
