Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulfate) Epsom salt is a chemical compound containing magnesium, sulfur, and oxygen. It is highly beneficial for plants. Knowing how to use it can easily solve many plant problems. Magnesium deficiency shows specific symptoms in plants. Here is what to look for: * Wilting of older plants * Wilting of new seedlings in pots * Pale or yellowing leaves * Curling leaves * Stunted growth * Weak plants * Reduced or small flowers and fruits Usage: Epsom salt can be used in 3 ways. 1. Foliar spray 2. Mixed with water for soil 3. Directly into the soil during repotting 1. Foliar Spray Instructions: Mix 1 teaspoon of Epsom salt in one liter of water and spray thoroughly on the leaves. * Use once a month. Do not spray more than once regardless of plant issues. * Spray in the early morning or evening. Never spray under direct sunlight. Do not use other fertilizers or pesticides 3 days before or after spraying Epsom salt. 2. Soil Application Instructions: Mix 2 tablespoons of Epsom salt in one liter of water and apply to the soil. * Alternatively, apply directly to the soil. Loosen the topsoil first. For 10/12-inch pots, use 1 teaspoon, and for smaller pots, use half a teaspoon. Mix with soil and water well. * Use once a month. 3. Repotting Instructions: Plants often wilt due to 'repotting shock'. Usage: Mix 1/2 teaspoon of Epsom salt with the soil for each pot. * Suitable for all plants: indoor, outdoor, flowers, fruits, and vegetables. Warning: For vegetables consumed directly or cooked (e.g., leafy greens, cucumbers, coriander), it is better to apply to the soil rather than spraying.
