You can try using it if Windows fingerprint/biometric authentication is supported. However, a compatible driver/software will be required for the FS82HC.
Make your own Attendance System
For example, checking in/out who arrived when at home/shop using a fingerprint. This can be very useful if you have shop employees.
Personal Fingerprint Database
You can create a small authentication system by saving fingerprint templates of yourself/family members with permission.
Use as a Smart Card Reader
Can read ISO7816 smart cards. However, it will not read any smart card—it will depend on the card's protocol/software and necessary driver/application.
